About the McCulloughs

So, we're the McCulloughs...

There are tons of little things that I could mention here to help you get more acquainted with us as individuals and as a couple. Little things like the fact that sometimes we decide to just be lazy all afternoon, sitting scrunched up in one corner of what may be the biggest couch in all of time, instead of doing anything productive or healthy like taking our bikes out to Oak Mountain. The scene I am sitting in as I write this, for example, is jam packed with me trying to figure out how the heck to "blog" and my husband, "the mayor", building a nation on SimCity and saving his peasants from water outages. But I choose to skip over those. Maybe we'll cover those in later posts as opportunity arises... we'll see how it goes. This is a pretty short page so why don't we just get straight to the meat of what really matters?

June 16, 2012 was the beginning of two lives being spent loving each other for the glory of Christ.  We agree fully with what one of my favorite authors, John Piper, says about marriage. "Marriage is not mainly about being or staying in love." -although we are super in love :) - "It's mainly about telling the truth with our lives. It's about portraying something true about Jesus Christ and the way He relates to His people. It's about showing in real life the glory of the gospel."  We want every aspect of our lives together to fall in line with the gospel.  Unfortunately though, if you hang around long enough you'll see that it doesn't always work out like that. I mean, it only took two chapters for Adam and Eve to need an eraser. Stupid flesh. But our screw-ups give us the chance to rest in the redeeming mercy of Christ. And in all of our travels so far, we've found no better place to be than in the strong, gracious arms of our Sovereign God.
